JANUARY 2009 GRADUATION
MIGUEL-CARILLO ELEMENTARY
These photos were taken from Miguel Carrillo Elementary School for the
D.A.R.E. Graduation ceremonies. Pictured is
D.A.R.E. Officer-Instructor Sonya Ramirez of the South San ISD Police Department.
The three children pictured with officer Ramirez are the top three
essay winners, Kayla Alaquinez from Mrs. Flore's class, Angel Avalos from Mr. Hernandez class, and Marissa Nava from Ms. Talamantez class. We would like to thank Principal Trevino and the Carrillo Elementary Faculty, Ms. Flores, Mr. Hernandez and Ms. Talamantez
for allowing us the opportunity to teach the D.A.R.E. Curriculum to
their students. We enjoyed working with all of you and look forward to
many more opportunities in the future.
FEBRUARY 2009 GRADUATION
PRICE
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
These three children pictured with officer Ramirez are the top three essay
winners for Price Elementary School. They are Emily Jimenez from Ms. Maspero's class, Isabel Sifuentes from Ms. Gomez' class, and Claudia Zamarripa from Ms. Spillane's
class. Again, we thank the Principal and Faculty from Price Elementary who made this opportunity to reach out to these children possible. We are honored to have played a part in teaching your children Drug Resistance and Awareness.
During the time spent in D.A.R.E. class, all the students
attending learned
about health facts and the dangers of using drugs. They
learned how to make wise choices by using the D.A.R.E.Decision making
Model. They also learned how say no to drugs and violence by staying
in-charge. After learning about positive and
negative peer pressure,
children are better equipped to respond to peer pressure with a
confident and responsible attitude. To end the ceremony, all
students made a pledge to stay drug free by just saying no
to drugs.
