D.A.R.E. Program Goals and Objectives
- Continue to expand the
D.A.R.E. Program to more
school districts by helping them train their officers to become certified
D.A.R.E.
Instructors, School Resource Officers-School Safety Officers. D.A.R.E. Officer
Training (DOT) projected
July 14 – 25, 2008
here in San Antonio. Goal train 40 new school district Police Department
officers. “FREE” for all participating LE agencies.

Train additional local law enforcement agencies (Constable and Municipal) who
want to join in "Project Partnership". Funding provided through the
Bexar County
D.A.R.E.
Program Board of Directors through donations received.
- Continue to add more elementary and middle schools to existing
D.A.R.E.
program as new D.A.R.E.
Officer-instructors are trained and certified.
- Add
the new optional D.A.R.E.
"Bullying" prevention curriculum.

Add for the first time the
"New
D.A.R.E."
High
School curriculum in San Antonio and
Bexar County
Schools.
- Implement the "New
D.A.R.E."
Parenting Education
Program at participating elementary, middle/junior and senior high schools.
- Provide more tobacco, alcohol, drug and violence free "FREE" events for our
D.A.R.E.
kids as well as promoting quality family time for the kids and their families.
Annual San Antonio Missions &
D.A.R.E.
drug free baseball game.
- Work
with local San Antonio Boys & Girls Clubs to develop after school project
outreach program to help our children stay drug and violence free.
- Work
with Communities & Schools in mentoring “At-Risk” children.
- Host
D.A.R.E. America International Training Conference in San Antonio,
August 12 – 14, 2008.
Attended by D.A.R.E. Officers and Educators from all 50-states and 54 foreign
countries.
- Stabilize our five (5) key fundraisers designed to save tax payers money as well
as giving D.A.R.E. the
needed funding to continue to expand, grow and reach more children. These five
key fundraisers are: Quantum Child Safety ID & Toy Program, Quantum FW-1 (Car
Wax), Premier Books Direct, Smart Circles and C & W Vending.

D.A.R.E. Program does not receive any federal or state or United Way funding.
Make an investment to save a child in lieu of spending Millions to treat and rehabilitate. It is a proven fact that it is cheaper to prevent than to treat.

America as having a model program.
