Deputies from the
Bexar County
Sheriff’s Office –
Drug
Abuse
Resistance
Education Program (D.A.R.E.) are visiting select
Grocery Stores
in cooperation with
Grocery Company – Corporate Office and the Texas
Sheriff’s Association
to provide “FREE” Child identification kits to parents.
has been a long time sponsor and
financial supporter of the
Bexar County
D.A.R.E. Program and its efforts to teach our children
about the harmful effects of tobacco, alcohol, prescription and over-the counter drug use/abuse,
as well as illegal drug use/abuse and violence. Local corporations and business like
are what keeps the
D.A.R.E. Program
growing throughout San Antonio and
Bexar County. Just like
is more than just a grocery store it is a part of the solution in helping to
save our children, stopping drugs and violence within all our Communities.
Once again it is evident that
D.A.R.E. is more
than just teaching in a classroom.
D.A.R.E.
Officer-instructors are committed to working in the Communities and with
parents to help keep our children safe and making safer and healthier
choices. The
Sheriff’s Office
has a “Commitment To Excellence” in serving our Communities. When law
enforcement, businesses, civic groups, Communities, citizens - parents all
work together the Children win! How much does it cost to prevent drug
use/abuse and too save a child – far less than it does too do nothing and
later have too arrest, process-book, detain, arraign, adjudicate,
incarcerate, treat, rehabilitate and then place on probation an offender. It
is the difference in being part of the solution or part of the problem in
failing to support prevention programs that work……D.A.R.E.
Works!
