Sheriff Ralph Lopez received check from new D.A.R.E. America fundraising partner FW-1 (Car Wax) to be used by the Bexar County Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) Program. FW-1 sets-up a small display at local Community gas and/or service stations, provides a demonstration to potential customers cars while they are pumping gas and sells to those who are satisfied the highly acclaimed FW-1 (Waterless) Wax. In addition they have other car cleaning items and kits to take care of tires, tar and grease removal, carpet & upholstery for sale as well. Proceeds from this go to support D.A.R.E. America national program as well as to help provide sorely needed funding to support local Community-based D.A.R.E. Programs. FW-1 sets-up from Monday through Saturday with a special event occurring every Saturday where they give out “FREE” Child Safety Identifications cards. For every local Community gas and/or service station that participates - the local D.A.R.E. Program, in this case Bexar County D.A.R.E. receives $100.00 per location up-front. “It is truly a win – win – win scenario – the business wins, the Community wins and more importantly the Children win”, said Sheriff Ralph Lopez. “This is a perfect situation whereby local businesses, Communities and law enforcement working together become part of the solution and win over the drug dealers, by having the funds to continue to help educate, save and prevent our children from becoming victims of drug use and abuse” said Deputy Chief Andres Lozano, Together Everyone Achieves More - Join the TEAM….D.A.R.E.
