Christmas 2006

D.A.R.E. Deputies make it a very Merry Christmas for the kids at a local Day Care Center in South Bexar County

Left to right Sheriff Ralph Lopez, Santa, a very happy young lady and Deputy Chief Andres Lozano (Patrol Division) helping Santa pass out presents at a county day care center. Thanks to this innovative concept by Quantum and D.A.R.E. America a lot of children in Bexar County received Christmas presents this year.  Approximately 175 children were given several presents each this Christmas thanks to D.A.R.E. America & Larry Tannenbaum. If not for this D.A.R.E. America Quantum “Toy Program” initiative these kids would not have experienced Christmas in 2006. Thanks to D.A.R.E. and Sheriff Lopez “they had a super experience and Christmas. This was part of the Sheriff’s – D.A.R.E. Community Outreach Program and initiative created by Deputy Chief Andres Lozano, of Patrol Division, of which the D.A.R.E. Board is a part of. “Commitment To Excellence” doing the right things for the right reasons to serve our citizens. Making a difference and showing a child that you care makes a lasting impression on a child’s future.

Deputy Chief Andres Lozano (above) of the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office – Patrol Division hands out Christmas presents too several needy and under-privileged children. Approximately 175 children received a Christmas this year thanks to Sheriff Lopez, D.A.R.E. America and Quantum. A picture is worth a thousand words, just check out the expression on the little girls face (foreground), it say’s it all. This was possible through a new D.A.R.E. America and Quantum “Toy Drive Program”. D.A.R.E. America does a lot to help support local Community D.A.R.E. programs. This too shows clearly that D.A.R.E. is much more than a law enforcement officer (D.A.R.E. Officer-instructor) in a classroom, it is a solid and dependable commitment to every Community in San Antonio and Bexar County to help save our children (and citizens) from the harmful effects of tobacco, alcohol, illegal and over-the-counter/prescription drug abuse. Teaching kids how to make healthy, safe and informed decisions and how to deal with peer pressure today – will help them live long, healthy, safe and productive lives tomorrow. D.A.R.E. Works!
